Behind its graffiti-sprayed façade on the alternative Glocksee site, the THEATER AN DER GLOCKSEE is currently base of an interdisciplinary team around the all-round artists Lena Kußmann and Jonas Vietzke.
Long considered an "insider's tip“, their own constant reinvention has become the group’s principle. As a highly reactive artistic research laboratory they are continuously seeking out new connections and often break the boundaries of their fixed venue.
Their themes and forms of work remain in flux and currently include crossovers of science and culture, the testing of multi-part long-term projects, and research on the digital plus for theater.
A diverse audience meets in the mutable stage space, which can fit up to 100 people depending on the production, and a cozy foyer, where there is always room for direct encounters between artists and audience.
For their work and projects during the pandemic, the team of THEATER AN DER GLOCKSEE was awarded the »pro visio« prize 2021 of the Stiftung Kulturregion and received the Theaterpreis des Bundes in 2021.
